This Privacy Policy explains what information Fohrman & Fohrman, Inc. ("Fohrman & Fohrman," "we," "us") collects through fohrman.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your company name, name, title (optional), email address, phone number (optional unless you ask us to call), preferred contact method, your organization's annual operating budget range, your objectives and the priorities you rate, how you heard about us, and anything else you choose to write.
- Nonprofit Pulse Check. Your company name, name, title, email address, phone number, and your yes/no answers to the quiz questions, along with the resulting scores.
- Mailing list. Whether you asked to be added to our mailing list. On both forms, this box is checked by default; you can uncheck it before you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our web host records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time. We use it to operate and secure the Site.
- Browser storage. The Site remembers on your own device (using your browser's local storage) that you have already seen or closed our Pulse Check pop-up or banner, so we don't show it to you again for 30 days. It is not sent to us and is not used to identify you.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors find us, and whether forms and the Pulse Check are completed. Google Analytics sets cookies (named
_gaand_ga_followed by an ID) that tell visitors apart and can last up to two years. We have turned off Google's advertising features and signals, and we do not use this data for advertising. Google handles it under its privacy policy. - Embedded video. The founder video on the home page is served by YouTube (using its privacy-enhanced mode). If you play it, Google/YouTube may collect information under Google's privacy policy.
The Site does not use advertising cookies or ad-tracking pixels.
How we use your information
- To respond to your message and discuss whether and how we can help your organization.
- To follow up on your Pulse Check results if you ask us to or if it appears we could be helpful.
- To send you occasional emails about our services and nonprofit finance topics, if you asked to be on our mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, and to comply with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Site and our business, and only as needed for those services:
- Web3Forms, the service that delivers form submissions to our email inbox.
- Mailchimp, our email marketing provider, which stores the names and email addresses of people on our mailing list and sends our mailing-list emails.
- Our email and business-software providers, who store the messages we receive and send.
- Our web hosting provider, which serves the Site and keeps server logs.
- Google Analytics, which receives usage data about visits to the Site (such as the pages viewed and a cookie identifier), as described above.
- YouTube/Google, if you play the embedded video.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
Please don't send confidential records through the forms
Our forms are not a secure way to send sensitive material. Please do not include Social Security numbers, bank or credit card numbers, passwords, donor lists, or confidential financial records. If you become a client, we will set up an appropriate way to share those documents.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain our business records, and then delete or archive them. If you joined our mailing list, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it.
Your choices and rights
- Mailing list. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to us at the address below.
- Access, correction, or deletion. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond as the law requires.
- California residents. Depending on the law's thresholds, you may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not retaliate against you for making a request.
- Analytics. You can block Google Analytics by installing Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by deleting or blocking cookies in your browser settings.
- Browser storage. You can clear your browser's local storage at any time, which will cause the Pulse Check pop-up and banner to appear again.
"Do Not Track"
We use analytics only to measure our own Site, not to track you across other websites or for advertising. The Site does not change its behavior in response to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information you give us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is intended for nonprofit professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other sites
The Site may link to websites we don't control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
